Ric Hammond, AIA, LEED AP and vice president of c|a.ARCHITECTS,
has successfully achieved the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) board certification.
With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare architecture, and a member of the c|a.ARCHITECTS' leadership team since 2002, Mr. Hammond is adept at integrating functional
and technical requirements, as well as technical proficiencies and evolving regulatory requirements. His meticulous management of schedules, tasks and budgets ensure that
healthcare projects are successfully completed in the most efficient, cost-effective and quality-driven manner.
A recognized industry leader, Mr. Hammond’s ACHA board certification represents the culmination of proven industry knowledge and practical experience, including the successful
management of high-profile clients that include the City of Hope National Medical Center, Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. As an ACHA
board certified member, he will continue to work towards the improvement of healthcare architecture, practice in an ethical manner, maintain high standards of specialized
continuing education and add to the industry’s body of knowledge.

c|a.ARCHITECTS
is pleased to welcome Fernando Ablaza, AIA as Senior Project Manager to its talented staff.
While Mr. Ablaza may be new to c|a ARCHITECTS, he is a well-recognized name in the healthcare architecture field. As a former Principal of a local architecture firm,
Mr. Ablaza orchestrated the design of several high-profile projects, including The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center in Burbank, Calif.—the signature building
of the Burbank Medical Plaza that was selected for recognition in the Architectural Showcase of Healthcare Design magazine.
Committed to design excellence and client service throughout all phases of a project, Mr. Ablaza and the c|a ARCHITECTS team will work closely with healthcare leaders in the
design of medical facilities throughout Southern California.

Abeyta brings over 25 years of experience working with educational facilities to support this market sector at c|a.ARCHITECTS. In addition to his design and project management experience in this complex market niche, Abeyta further specializes in the completion of complicated food service facilities and modernization projects. Each area requires a high level of expertise and coordination as well as the ability to manage the interests of multiple clients and consultants.
Abeyta has worked closely with major school districts such as Long Beach USD, Hemet USD, Los Angeles USD and Anaheim HSD. Lemkin Oncology Pavilion, designed by c|a.ARCHITECTS, was recently honored by the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID LA). This 15,730 square-foot Oncology Unit at Torrance Memorial Medical Center garnered 2nd place for the Contract Healthcare category.
Judging was conducted by five industry professionals from outside of the LA Chapter. The project was chosen based on design, budget, code constrictions and space limitations.

Ms. Schwichtenberg received her Master of Health Services Administrations degree from University of Southern California in 2005. In July of 2005 she c|a.ARCHITECTS as an Interior Designer. Roselyn is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and International Interior Design Association.

Places to Work
c|a.ARCHITECTS has been named among Modern Healthcare's 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.
Almost 240 healthcare companies participated in this first-ever healthcare workplace listing. Modern Healthcare will reveal the specific ranking of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, from 1 to 100, in a special supplement to be published October 27, 2008. The supplement also will recognize the top places to work by industry segment and by number of employees, and will profile some of the recipients.
Modern Healthcare partnered with Best Companies Group, a PA-based firm that administers "best places to work" programs nationwide. Modern Healthcare conducted this program to recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level.
